Discover Cheap Flights To Ireland

Ireland is a country of ancient ruins, gray skies, and emerald meadows. It is a land of rocky cliffs, islands, mountains, lakes, peat bogs, but also ultra-modern cities with a rich history. The Republic of Ireland occupies almost the entire island of Ireland, also known as “Eire” or “Emerald Island”. This name comes from the unique color of fields and meadows that owe their freshness and beautiful greenery to warm rains from the Atlantic Ocean.

History

The history of Ireland dates back to around 400 BC. – then Celts came here from the European continent. But already 6000 thousand. years earlier, the first people lived here. The most turbulent, however, is the contemporary history of the country, whose traces can be seen until today. In many places, the echoes of the riots between Catholics and the Protestants of the 1920s (the then IRA – the Irish Republican Army) were established, which led to achieving total independence from the United Kingdom in 1949.

Peace lasted shortly and in the late 1960s, a civil war began between the IRA and the Protestant loyalists of the British government. It was only 1994 that ended the violence and terrorist attacks, and since Ireland’s accession to the European Union, it has become the most dynamic and fastest-growing economy in Europe.

Today, the dark green beer is associated mainly with dark Guinness beer and traditional Irish whiskey. Contrary to popular belief, this noble liquor comes from Ireland. The climate of the green island is also conducive to year-round cattle breeding – grazing almost every step, long-haired Irish cows are an indispensable element of its landscape.

Tourism has also been developed in Ireland. Travelers here are attracted by a friendly, though wet climate, amazing landscapes, historic sites, and the spirit of modern cities such as Dublin – a cultural center full of great theaters, cinemas, nightclubs, and discos. The cities of Ireland have their own specific charm, which makes famous pubs with traditional music.

Cheap Flights – When to fly?

It’s best to go to Ireland in the tourist season, in the summer months. Irish summer with sunny and long days is undoubtedly the best time to visit the island. It is then that various festivals and concerts take place here, almost all pubs and restaurants are open much longer. In the summer, all tourist attractions are also available to visitors – castles, museums, etc. Of course, Dublin is always the peak of the season.

Spring and autumn is also a good time to visit Ireland. The weather is usually good and there are no more tourist crowds. In addition to Dublin, during the winter in Ireland, there is a break in tourism. Of course, you can then look for interesting places in this period, especially cheap. Unfortunately, most seasonal hotels, restaurants or tourist attractions are closed from mid-November to mid-March.
